Snowy Day Celebrations

There are so many reasons for celebrating The Snowy Day! We won’t list them here. Instead, we are showing some of the ways Ezra’s 20th-century classic is being celebrated in the 21st century—in schools, parks, museums, and around the world.

Snowy Day Season, 2019

We love receiving #TheSnowyDay stories from around the world! Thanks to Ms. Posner, an #ESL teacher at École Imagine in Val-David, Quebec for sharing her students’ work! https://t.co/S6SyvhGiAQ #ELLchat #K12 #Literacy pic.twitter.com/ERGClm0lp5

#SnowDay learning is underway. Listening to #TheSnowyDay and creating snow scenes. Also making a hypothesis about how fast snow will melt around the house. We didn’t account for a thirsty …♀️ #teacherlibrarian #librarianlife #TeacherMom #AlwaysLearning ❤️ pic.twitter.com/627ZOiQKf3

Today in Kindergarten Art we read the story “The Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats. After the story we made our own snowy day picture using puffy snow and a Peter cut out. #EESLeadAndLearn #thesnowyday #3Dart pic.twitter.com/emefAldv6v

We had some fun in the snow today reenacting my son’s favorite book #TheSnowyDay by #EzraJackKeats. His snowsuit wasn’t red at all, but some sloppy photoshop made it happen. ‍♀️ pic.twitter.com/m5ZYf4TIxN

We’ve been learning all about winter. Today we read #TheSnowyDay by #EzraJackKeats & painted our own snow day pictures of “clouds”, “snow falling”, “the boy’s house”, “the moon”, and much more! pic.twitter.com/MvUYr59UYe

Today is the big day. Students are judging to determine the winner of the @MacArthurACPS Winter Wonderland Bulletin Board Challenge. Will the winner be Third Grade with our @Seesaw integrated @EJKeats The Snowy Day board? @ACPSk12 @acpstech pic.twitter.com/tQGulENMdF

Snowy Day Season, 2018

With bitter cold and blizzard conditions around the country, it was hard not to think of The Snowy Day. Unsurprisingly, some educators put that thought to good use. Here’s a selection of their Keats tweets!
